Pediatric care

One of the most important decisions a parent makes for a child is who will provide his or her health care. When you choose Novant Health North High Point Family Medicine, not only do you get a board-certified family medicine doctor with years of training and experience in pediatrics, you also get an office full of compassionate providers where your child will be comfortable along with the rest of your family.

Sick-patient care

When you child is sick, you can see a provider in our office quickly.We reserve same-day and next-day appointments for sick or injured children whenever possible. Our on-site lab means diagnosing ailments including flu or strep throat can happen quickly. And, help or advice is always just a phone call away, even after office hours.

No question is a silly question when it comes to your child's health! We are here to answer your questions and to help set your mind at ease.

Well-child care

Consistent preventive medical care is important for your child. Regular checkups are chances for your child's provider to identify and address health, growth or developmental concerns. These appointments also give your child a chance to get to know our office and become comfortable here.

Your child will typically see a provider at the following ages:

  • A few days after birth/hospital discharge
  • One month
  • Two months
  • Four months
  • Six months
  • Nine months
  • One year
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 2 years, and annually each year after

School, sports and camp physicals

Our office regularly completes forms for school, sports and camp physicals. These forms can usually be completed at the same time as your child's annual checkup. If you have been given forms that you need completed for your child, please bring those with you to your appointment.

If completing these forms requires additional screenings not included in your child's annual appointment, there might be an additional charge.

Vaccines

Our office follows the American Academy of Pediatrics' vaccine schedule (below). Should you have any questions or concerns about your child's vaccines, feel free to ask anyone in our office.
